NJP is a not-for-profit statewide law firm dedicated to Combating Injustice, Strengthening Communities, and Protecting Human Dignity through legal representation, community partnerships, and education. We are currently seeking a qualified Staff Attorney to join our Eviction Prevention Unit (EPU) in either Everett or Bellingham, WA. This position will primarily serve Northwest Washington but may require coverage in surrounding regions or statewide.

JOB DUTIES:
- Represent eligible individuals in unlawful detainer actions by the Superior Court
- Assist individuals with unfiled unlawful detainer actions
- Use strategic methods and advocacy tools to address high priority eviction-related client needs, with a focus on marginalized groups
- Develop collaborative relationships with advocates throughout the state
- Engage with at-risk communities and provide legal education events
- Utilize NJP's case management and timekeeping systems
- Provide coverage across counties as needed
- Travel to courthouses within the region as necessary
- Support the work of NJP's eviction defense partners

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Washington State Bar Association membership or ability to acquire through admission by motion or upcoming bar exam
- Litigation experience, preferably in Superior Court and tenant rights
- Experience in housing, foreclosure, or other legal issues affecting low-income communities
- Demonstrated commitment to or experience working with marginalized communities
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds
- Ability to travel between counties and represent clients in different courts
- Reliable transportation to courthouses within the region

COMPENSATION:
- Annual salary range of $73,142 to $133,712 based on experience
- Comprehensive benefits package including 100% paid employee health premiums and generous time off
