Senior Legal Assistant - Regulatory & Marketing Compliance - Englewood Cliffs, NJ

Job Summary:

Unilever, one of the largest consumer goods companies in the world, is seeking a Senior Legal Assistant for their Regulatory & Marketing Compliance team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the business in promoting Unilever's nutrition and ice cream brands through various media channels. The ideal candidate will have expertise in regulated food products and be able to provide counsel to business partners on legal and regulatory issues.

Responsibilities:

- Initial review of claims and claim substantiation across all marketing materials.
- Partner with Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with FDA regulations for labeling and communications.
- Review digital and social media plans for compliance with FTC regulations and identify potential risks related to claims and intellectual property.
- Act as the first point of contact for Marketing and Consumer Services teams.
- Assist in managing quality incident workstreams, such as internal investigations and product recalls.
- Draft and maintain marketing governance resources for the business and cross-functional partners.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for updates to policies, protocols, guidance, and trainings.

Qualifications:

- 5-7 years of experience as a paralegal or regulatory/compliance expert in a legal marketing or regulatory/compliance department.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Knowledge of FDA regulatory frameworks for food products and experience with claim substantiation.
- Basic knowledge or interest in expanding practice to include FTC regulations, digital and social media, promotions, intellectual property, and sustainability.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects on tight deadlines.

Pay and Benefits:

- Pay range for this position is $69,300 to $103,900.
- Bonus eligible.
- Long-Term Incentive (LTI) eligible.
- Eligible for benefits such as health insurance, retirement savings, parental leave, and more.
