Job Title: Chief Administrative Officer
Experience: Minimum 10 years of extensive administrative and senior leadership experience.

As the Chief Administrative Officer at a law firm, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the firm's operations. This includes setting long-term goals, managing profitability, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. You will also oversee the financial structure of the firm and manage relationships with lenders and financial institutions. Additionally, you will have supervisory responsibilities, providing effective leadership to Director-level employees and promoting communication and cooperation among departments and employees.

Some of your essential job functions and responsibilities will include:

- Establishing short-term objectives and long-range goals with the Executive Committee, shareholders, and directors
- Thinking strategically and identifying areas for improvement in client service, profitability, and growth
- Serving as the assistant secretary and treasurer for the firm
- Presenting regular reports on the status of operations to shareholders and staff
- Managing the firm's financial structure and relationships with lenders and financial institutions
- Preparing the annual firm budget and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
- Negotiating and maintaining office and equipment leases
- Ensuring timely and accurate payment of taxes
- Bringing important matters to the attention of the Executive Committee for analysis and decision-making
- Supervising Director-level employees and managing team and individual performance
- Promoting communication and cooperation among departments and employees
- Initiating or performing additional duties as directed by the Executive Committee or Chairperson
- Operating within the confines of Bylaws and Firm Policy
- Located on-site in the Des Moines, Iowa office of the law firm

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Minimum of 10 years of extensive administrative and senior leadership experience
- Advanced knowledge of fiscal planning, reporting, and budgeting
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Excellent managerial and financial skills
- Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in a professional services firm
- Ability to work well with others and motivate and inspire groups and individuals
- Flexibility in adjusting to changing circumstances and needs
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data, legal documents, and regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
