Corporate Counsel
New York City, NY Job Title: Corporate Counsel Company: Bubble Location: New York, NY About Bubble: - Full-stack, no-code platform with over 2 million users - Making software development more accessible and breaking down barriers to entrepreneurship - Located in over 100 countries About the Role: - First legal role at Bubble - Oversee all legal matters across the company - Liaise with external counsel for specific legal expertise - Opportunity to build and lead the legal function of a fast-growing tech start-up Responsibilities: - Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with sales team - Ensure contractual terms align with industry standards and legal requirements - Build, maintain, and improve internal policies and ensure compliance with international and regional standards - Advise on data privacy laws and regulations - Provide legal guidance on intellectual property matters and work with product and engineering teams to protect proprietary technology - Manage and negotiate contracts with vendors and third-party service providers - Implement and manage a streamlined contract lifecycle management process - Stay up to date on emerging legal issues in the SaaS and tech industry - Work closely with external legal counsel on other legal matters impacting the company Qualifications: - JD degree from an accredited law school - 5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department - Active membership in the New York state bar association - Expertise in commercial contracts and privacy - Experience with building and improving processes - Ability to work independently with limited guidance Salary Information: - Competitive compensation aligned with tier one markets (estimated range from $145,000 to $175,000) - Actual pay determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and market demand Diversity and Inclusion: - Bubble encourages people from all ages, abilities, and experiences to apply - Does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ancestry, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital or family status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, pregnancy or caregiver status, veteran status, or any other legally protected status Eligibility: - Only considering candidates authorized to work in the US and within commuting distance of New York City office - Relocation assistance provided for those interested in moving to NYC area - While in-office attendance is not required, preference for hiring candidates within commuting distance for regular in-person collaboration and company perks. |
