Finance Manager - Foulston Law Firm Firm Overview: - One of the most respected law firms in Kansas - Over a century of experience - More than 80 attorneys and three offices - Diverse client base from individuals to Fortune 500 companies - Commitment to philanthropy and community involvement Reporting Relationship: - Reports to Director of Finance - Works closely with Controller and Firm Leadership Location: - Wichita, KS home office required Role: - Active contributor in all accounting and finance functions - Works with Finance Management Team to ensure critical financial systems, processes, and reporting are in place - Assists with deployment and maintenance of attorney metrics and dashboards - Requires strong communication, inquisitive mind, customer service focus, and ethics - Builds and maintains positive relationships with Attorneys, Leadership, and Staff Education, Experience, and Key Attributes: - Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; Master's a plus - CPA certificate required - Minimum of 2 years of partnership tax experience - Strong Excel proficiency and experience with enterprise level financial systems - Professional services experience a plus - High level of integrity and dependability - Attention to detail, accuracy, and timely delivery - Inquisitive mind, problem-solving ability, and results-oriented - Commitment to superior client service - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to collaborate and build positive relationships with Attorneys, Leadership, and Staff Specific Responsibilities: Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Business Planning: - Assists with budgeting/forecasting processes and provides data, analysis, and recommendations to Firm and Practice/Staff Department Leadership - Monitors best practices in legal industry and makes recommendations for improvement - Stays attuned to internal and external conditions, trends, and risks Financial Reporting and Profitability: - Ensures financial management systems provide necessary information in appropriate forms - Delivers accurate, timely, meaningful financial information and analysis - Incorporates critical internal accounting, ethical, and business controls into financial management processes - Designs, maintains, and enhances financial dashboards to monitor performance indicators, trends, and profit improvement opportunities at various levels - Assists with training of Attorneys and Staff on financial dashboards Financial Operations: - Promotes cultural commitment to superior client service - Ensures accurate and timely recording of transactions in financial management systems - Manages general accounting, payables, receivables, cash receipts and disbursement functions, systems, processes, and internal controls - Develops and maintains time, billing, and collection policies and practices - Proactively monitors WIP and AR and communicates with Billing Attorneys and Leadership to resolve issues - Oversees completion of Annual Audit and preparation of Tax Returns by outside CPA firm - Manages significant financial management projects to completion on time and within budget Foulston Benefits: - Positive work environment - Professional and financial rewards - Information about benefit package on website - Equal Opportunity Employer To Apply: - Confidentially apply via link or website - Cover letter and resume requested |
