Associate Attorney - Litigation - TX
Plano, TX Position: Associate Attorney - Litigation Salary: Competitive, performance-based bonus opportunities Experience: 3-5 years as lead counsel representing financial institutions in contested matters Location: Plano, TX Department: MHT- Litigation McCarthy Holthus, a fast-paced and well-respected law firm in the financial services industry, is seeking a motivated and experienced Associate Attorney to join our litigation team in Plano, TX. As an Associate Attorney, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and training while working in a flexible and fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth. Responsibilities: - Oversee and supervise all legal aspects of the firm’s litigation practice - Manage a portfolio of contested litigation matters - Act as lead counsel in all aspects of litigated proceedings - Ensure clients are kept informed of case status - Provide guidance to operational staff and ensure compliance with legal requirements - Monitor for state, federal, and regulatory changes and recommend process modifications Requirements: - Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and license to practice law in Texas - Admission to practice before all four Texas federal districts - 3-5 years of experience as lead counsel representing financial institutions in contested matters - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Proficiency in legal research applications such as Westlaw or LexisNexis - Jurisdiction-specific experience in contested default matters and banking litigation preferred Work Schedule: - Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Benefits: - Competitive compensation package with performance-based bonus opportunities - Benefits following a 30-day waiting period, including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, EAP, STD, and LTD - Voluntary income protection benefits such as supplemental life, accident, critical illness, and short and long-term care insurances - 401(k)-retirement plan with company match - Parental leave for both primary and non-primary caregivers - Flexible schedules and remote work options (where available) Diversity & Inclusion: At McCarthy Holthus, we understand that diversity, equity, and inclusion are critical to our business success.
