Job Title: Mass Tort Paralegal Department: Legal Experience: Minimum 2 years of paralegal or clerical experience preferred Salary: Hourly, non-exempt position. Overall Description of the Position: As a Mass Tort Paralegal at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys in handling mass tort and personal injury cases. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Skills & Abilities: - Paralegal or clerical experience. - Competent to Proficient knowledge and demonstrated skill set in: MS Office Word, Excel, and Adobe; online platforms such as Box and DropBox; typing, saving and calendaring events; filing, organizing, and processing data; reading and processing information from text and online sources; and proofing documents for spelling, punctuation and grammar. - Ability to type quickly and accurately. - Effective communication skills with coworkers. - Self-motivated and well-organized. - Customer service skills preferred. - Punctual and predictable attendance. - Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes in daily routine. - Ability to interpret court orders and draft pleadings. - Job duties must be regularly performed in the office at a desk. Position Duties: - Gather and input data from various sources into databases. - Save documents and extract information from them. - Organize work tasks in a detail-oriented manner to meet deadlines. - Communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers and team members. - Work independently and as part of a team in the absence of another member. - Communicate with clients to gather and submit case information. - Answer client questions regarding court updates and case status. - Handle litigation tasks such as drafting pleadings, electronically filing pleadings, effectuating service, drafting and submitting discovery, and reviewing and submitting settlement documentation. - Ensure all court and settlement deadlines are met. - Run reports and maintain case statuses for litigation projects. Education, Certificates and Licenses: - High School Diploma or GED. - Associates or bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field, preferred. - Must be able to pass pre-employment background check. - Paralegal certification preferred. Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of paralegal or clerical experience preferred. - Experience in mass tort or personal injury law preferred. - Experience with electronic filing and document management systems preferred. - Customer service experience preferred.
