Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management in all types of employment-related legal matters, is seeking an experienced attorney to join the firm’s dynamic and long-established practice in its St. Thomas, Virgin Islands office. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys who are proactive and passionate about assuming a high level role providing legal service within a sophisticated practice and who are seeking to assume a significant role in all aspects of labor and employment law.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in the US Virgin Islands. During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.
10 years of labor and employment experience.
Experience conducting and defending depositions, and must possess second or first chair experience representing employers before administrative agencies, in arbitration, and in bench or jury trials.
Experience preparing and arguing dispositive motions, and must be able to provide excellent written and analytical work.
Ability to contribute to a respectful, collegial office environment.

Litigation and trial work
Resolving governmental and workplace investigations
Conduct and defend depositions
Represent employers before administrative agencies, in arbitration, and in bench or jury trials
Prepare and argue dispositive motions
Provide excellent written and analytical work
Contribute to a respectful, collegial office environment
