Senior Legal Counsel

This is an important role within the Netherlands Business Unit and will include the wider management of the Benelux legal management of external lawyers operating in other countries within the European region, all while delivering legal services that support our corporate strategy and sustainable business growth. The Legal team is a PAN European team and you will lead the legal function in the Benelux (Nordics and Baltics). The reagional head of Legal, to whom you will report to, is located in the UK. The office off **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Partners in the Netherlands is located in Amsterdam, which will be your basis. We support the option to work in a hybrid way and therefore combine working form the office with working from home. ## Main Responsibilities * Operational Leadership: Lead the local legal function, managing the legal team and external providers. * Legal Advisory: Offer legal advice across the insurance and service value chain, supporting key internal stakeholders and negotiations with partners. * Strategic Governance: Provide strategic legal and governance guidance to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Partners regional and local Executives, ensuring accurate public documentation in trade registers. * Team Development: Mentor and empower your legal team, fostering a collaborative, environment. * Cost Management: Steer external law firms to control legal expenses. * Global Legal Leadership: Contribute to global legal leadership initiatives alongside the Regional Head of EU Markets. * Support Initiatives: Collaborate on Global **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Partners and **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** SE initiatives. * Relationship Building: Forge relationships with peers across the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Group. * Project Participation: Engage in local and regional **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Partners projects. * Clear Legal Advice: Deliver professional written and oral legal counsel supporting strategic objectives. * Efficiency Initiatives: Develop standard legal documentation and enhance efficiency within the legal function. * Budget Management: Manage the Benelux legal team budget. ## Qualifications * Solid knowledge of several legal disciplines like corporate law, insurance, supervisory, contract, and/or litigation processes. * 5 years work experience as Dutch qualified lawyer in a law firm and/or as inhouse * Leadership experience * International working experience * Proficiency in corporate law * Regulatory compliance expertise * English C1 or higher * EU legal qualification * Living in The Netherlands ## Benefits * Gross monthly salary between €6500,- and €6800,- obv 38 uur * Bonus package and yearly bonus * Possibility to work 32 – 38 hours per week * 25 annual holidays the possibility to save an 13 days with ATV * Hybrid working with Amsterdam as home base * Retirement benefits * Career growth opportunities within a global industry leader * A collaborative work environment Company seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
