An effective ERP will enable the streamlined design of end-to-end processes and provide faster, more accurate flow of information to meet the needs of a maturing and growing organization.\u202F\u202FBy transforming our foundation for all operations company-wide, BioMarin\u2019s Finance function strives to develop a Next Generation Finance strategy, that embraces innovative and industry-leading practices like Global Business Service models, digitally integrated value chains, and cross-functional process and data governance frameworks. The Associate Director of Next Generation Finance will play a key role in supporting the success of our Financial Operations, ERP program, and the development of the operational strategies needed to shape and optimize our future business service delivery model(s).\u00A0 This Associate Director will require a deep understanding of leading practices in global business services, particularly those that cover critical end-to-end process areas like: Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, Source-to-Pay, Hire-to-Retire, FP&A, Treasury and Tax.\u00A0They\u2019ll be able to bridge the cross-functional gaps that often arise from competing priorities to help global stakeholders across the organization realize the measurable business value that comes from aligning on optimal ways of working. The AD will have demonstrated capacity to influence, lead, deliver, and pivot in a collaborative way to bring BMRN\u2019s infrastructure modernization to life.\u00A0\u00A0Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Next Generation Finance program, enabling the success of our ERP initiative, and the development of our multi-year strategies to drive a long-term optimization of our operating service delivery models. Design optimal solutions to transform our global Finance/G&A service operations based on leading practices, shared services/GBS models, effective ways of working, continuous improvement methodologies, and the unique needs of our cross-functional business partners. \u00A0Act as a trusted advisor to finance leaders and critical stakeholders to help them solve their most complex business and technology challenges Help our business partners understand, evaluate, respond to and adopt process, governance, and organizational design changes that provide new more optimal ways to meet their needsChallenge old business models by analyzing needs and approaches, and innovatively designing new user experiencesWork creatively and analytically with a structured approach to problem-solvingDevelop and maintain detailed project plans, identifying risks/dependencies and milestones, and change management needs/impacts, organizational readiness, and training plans. Conduct insightful analysis using internal and external data (e.g., benchmark data and & industry trends) to derive insights that will drive process transformation.\u00A0Facilitate discussions, surveys, focus groups, and workshops to articulate vision, understand stakeholder needs, and gather input Build partnerships and collaborate with global, functional, and regional teams on analytical, operational, and planning initiatives. Work cross-functionally to ensure a global perspective and that all regulatory and financial control requirements are of top priority. Partner and align closely with other BMRN transformation leaders, ensuring consistent approaches and frameworks. Act as the point of contact between different departments functions\u00A0within BMRN and other relevant parties on day-to-day program execution of tasks, deliverables, resourcing, and quality control.\u00A0 Business Performance Metrics & Key Performance Indicators (KPI\u2019s): \u00A0Identifying and implementing program, project, and business operations performance metrics and KPI\u2019s is a primary objective of the Next Generation Finance leader.\u00A0This includes developing and deploying tools, dashboards, and workflows that focus on continuous improvement and process enhancement. Program Risk Management:\u00A0 identify any risks in the plan and develop a strategy to overcome or address these and mitigate these risks.\u00A0 Risks include understanding key dependencies to assess the impact of issues and changes to make recommendations to impacted stakeholders. Qualifications10 years of experience leading large-scale global strategic/transformation programs, including the design and deployment of Global Business Service/Shared Service modelsA background in Finance and customer-centric operations, and demonstratable in-depth knowledge of Accounting Practices and key business process areas, including Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, Source-to-Pay, Hire-to-Retire, FP&A, Treasury and TaxSkilled communicator and proven relationship builder, able to operate within a multitude of formal and informal networks while managing the competing interests of varied stakeholdersStrong familiarity with process design based on ERP platform enablement (preference for SAP ECC or SAP S/4 HANA either as a user or as part of an ERP implementation)Experience with analytical approach to identify, understand, and develop solutions to business challenges; Ability to create and present detailed financial models, and compelling business cases Ability to work successfully with internal/external teams and strategic partners to maximize value and accelerate changeProven ability to interact with and influence peers and senior management in a complex, geographically dispersed organizationSelf-directed, dynamic, and customer-centric change-agent who thrives in a challenging and changing environmentDemonstrated project leadership and management experience employing consultation/advisory elementsBachelor\u2019s Degree required (Masters in Business Administration, Management, or similar preferred)Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Access, and ProjectHybrid Work Style:\u00A0Virtual 3 days a week\u00A0Onsite in San Rafael, CA 2 days a week: Tuesdays & Thursdays PLEASE NOTE: Absent a Medical or Religious reason that prohibits vaccinations, all our incoming employees must be vaccinated for COVID-19.
