Sr. Manager Sample Operations

OVERVIEW: J. Crew Group is seeking a Senior Manager for our Sample Operations for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***, Factory and Madewell Brands. This role is responsible for the overall sample process management and optimization. Identify, implement, and champion best practices for the Sample Team.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Oversee the sample life cycle and processing of all sample shipments
•    Manage the organization and retrieval of samples from the on-site & off-site design sample archive 
•    Manage turning over samples in company inventory system
•    Partner with Photo Studios & Brand Creative teams on sample status, shoot schedule, sample delays and impact to product roll outs 
•    Work closely with Sourcing team on sample status, calendar shifts and ensure team is kept up to date on any changes to sample calendar 
•    Manage team workflow to the Factory, Retail and Madewell sample calendars
•    Partner with Retail, Factory and Madewell Visual teams on sample pulls and status
•    Assess the use of samples and provide feedback on areas of opportunity for future sample ordering and cost savings
•    Follow up with the merchant teams on product that has not been received
•    Maintain the flow of samples in/out of the sample library
•    Assist stylist, stylist assistants, web designers, art directors, merchants, and PR teams with sample pulls & send outs
•    Ensure Library is kept current through the sample sale of past seasons quarterly
•    Continue passing late samples needed for styling and communicate all updates to stylist and styling assistant
•    Drive daily productivity of a team of 10 associates

REQUIREMENTS:
•    Must bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry and move at least 40 pounds | 18 kilos.
•    Communicate effectively, clearly, and confidently
•    Operations experience preferred and process driven.
•    Proficiency in Excel is a must. 
•    Organization tools to keep the volume managed with efficiency and order for all stakeholders. 
•    Ability to multi-task 
•    Team player with a can-do attitude, able to develop talent and interested in serving the various constituents of the sample library.
•    Experience leading a team of 10
