SUMMARY:
The Senior Customer Service & Logistics Specialist has primary responsibility for managing the relationship between the customer and the Supply Chain with respect to their assigned accounts as well as demonstrates the ability to be an expert in their field. The Senior Customer Service & Logistics Specialist manages these relationships by: a) Demonstrating the ability to directly lead and empower team members striving for a culture of continuous improvement; b) Collaborating with cross functional teams on strategic initiatives; c) Communicating effectively at all levels of the organization; d) Exhibiting role model behavior aligned with Tyson’s core values; e) Serving as a mentor for new hires by participating in interview and onboarding processes; f) Leading face to face customer visit engagements; g) Actively identifying and participating in completion of key projects.
FULL DESCRIPTION:
Serves as an expert and the primary contact between Tyson Foods Supply Chain and the assigned external customer(s), responsible for all aspects of the relationship including receipt of customer orders as well as prompt resolution of any issues which may arise throughout the order to cash cycle; utilizes SAP order management system to process customer orders and to monitor compliance of all assigned accounts; maintains expert knowledge of all internal Tyson Foods policies, procedures and software applications; maintains knowledge of external customer's organizational structure, procedures and all other pertinent information; leads and empowers peer team member; leads face to face interactions that strengthen Tyson Foods’ relationship with external customers; models best in class attitude and optimism for other team members aligned with Tyson’s 5Cs; viewed as a leader and mentor by peers and managers through proven ability to speak up, provide feedback; participates in new team member selection and leads onboarding process; champion of change, development, and growth; utilizes Tyson business priorities and strategies to continually identify opportunities and provide solutions creating cost saving benefits for the customer and Tyson Foods; actively seeks, leads, and ensures completion on key projects for assigned accounts, direct team, and network projects.
Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) accounts— Manage the supply chain for VMI customer(s) meeting or exceeding customer turns and service requirements; monitor customer inventory positions, generate and manage order writing activities, reconcile exception orders and analyze data to review customer promotions and trends.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE: 3 years business experience: Tyson Supply Chain experience preferred
COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient with job related systems such as MS Office applications, SAP, warehouse/transportation management systems, BI and/or AFE are required
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills; Conflict Management skills; Ability to multi-task; Positive attitude; Problem Solving skills; Negotiation skills; Team Centric Leadership
SPECIAL SKILLS (if applicable):
SUPERVISORY: N/A
TRAVEL: The position requires domestic travel for customer meetings; normal travel is approximately 2-3 times per year
SCOPE DATA: The Senior Customer Service Specialist in this organization supports a specific customer base within a geographical region or specialty channel for order management for all Retail, Foodservice, and National Account customers
