JOB OVERVIEW
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** (UC) seeks to hire an academic Cytopathologist/Surgical Pathologist to join our growing department.

The position involves participation in clinical service in cytopathology and surgical pathology; teaching pathology residents, fellows and students; and offers opportunities for participation in research.  Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position is expected to participate in clinical service in anatomic pathology, including surgical pathology and cytopathology, and teach medical students and pathology residents.

Duties include: 

*Reviewing patient cases (pathology slides) to generate a diagnosis for the ordering physician to determine treatment. *Preparation and completion of diagnostic cytopathology and surgical pathology reports. *Providing clinical consultations in cytopathology and surgical pathology to the physicians at UC Physicians and to other physicians as needed for patient care. *Participation in multidisciplinary care meetings (i.e., clinical conferences) for purposes of enhancing patient care and education. *Activities will include presenting cases, discussing diagnosis and clinical course, and providing expert pathology input in the care and management of patients. *Oversight of activities of UCMC Medical Residents and Pathologist Assistants. *Participating in on-call coverage for anatomic pathology. *Teaching UC Medical Students in laboratory and classroom settings through course instruction and service-based instruction during elective rotations in Pathology. *Creating and delivering lectures, slide sessions, and clinical service-based and conference-based instruction to UCMC Residents and Fellows. *Participating in resident applicant interviews.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
*Prior to the date of appointment, applicants must have an M.D., or D.O. degree. *Board-eligibility in anatomic and clinical pathology, as defined by completion of a four-year residency in an ACGME-accredited residency program in anatomic and clinical pathology. *Must have obtained medical licensure by the Ohio Medical Board.
