ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
LAMS oversees the operations side of the University's AAALAC-accredited Animal Care and Use Program (ACUP).  The successful candidate will join the Attending Veterinarian and over 30 staff in providing services to researchers across 4 campuses, with a heavy emphasis on rodent medicine and surgery.  

JOB OVERVIEW
The Office of Research Laboratory Animal Medical Services (LAMS) department at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is seeking to fill a Clinical Veterinarian. This position will need someone who has self-starting abilities, dependable, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to effectively plan and organize work and set priorities, and values working with a diverse team and customers. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Set and clarify goals for veterinary technical staff. Assist with personnel training and with coordination of meetings and continuing education opportunities for the vet staff. *Provide support for activities of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Provide investigator support (i.e., training, model development, IACUC protocol reviews). *Assist with review of SOPs, Guidelines and Quality Assurance Standards. Assist with regulatory and accreditation oversight and post-approval monitoring. *Report animal, facility and personnel issues and concerns to the appropriate level. *Participate in the veterinary on-call rotation. *May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). *Perform related duties based on departmental need. REQUIRED EDUCATION
Doctoral Degree in Veterinary Medicine (graduated from an AVMA Council on Education (COE)-accredited school or successfully completed an educational equivalency certification program such as that administered by the AVMA's Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG)).

REQUIRED TRAININGS/CERTIFICATIONS
*Current license to practice veterinary medicine in at least one state is required with the requirement to obtain an Ohio license within one (1) year. *Completion of an American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM)-approved training program or ACLAM board-eligible.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years of experience in Laboratory Animal Medicine.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
Advanced research degrees (MS, MPH, MBA, PhD or other applicable degree).
