JOB OVERVIEW

The Business Core Systems department is looking for a Full-time Software Application developer. This Software Application Developer is responsible for the design and implementation of applications' build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. Other responsibilities include working with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, and architecting, implementing/updating solutions, building and executing test plans, performing quality reviews, and triaging and fixing operational and production issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Works on smaller, moderately complex tasks in support of a project that requires a singular area of expertise *Participates in project planning processes *Assists in the gathering of business requirements and may write functional specifications *May write functional specifications *May create technical design specifications *Develops and/or implements reusable components *Develops/builds IT solutions to meet business requirements *Installs and configures solutions *Translates business and technical requirements into test cases *Assists with the identification, creation, and maintenance of test data. *Develops interface stubs and simulators, as needed. *Performs script maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementations. *Assists with setup and maintenance of test environments for both manual and automated testing *Adheres to standards and procedures. *Deploys new modules, upgrades and fixes to the production environment. *Makes modules production-ready by moving them to libraries, *Reviews modules for quality assurance *completing forms, following procedures, completing version control documents, etc. *May perform ongoing routine application maintenance tasks. *May assist in production support. *May troubleshoot existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develops solutions. *Documents functions and changes to new or modified modules and test activities/results.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
*Bachelor's degree (in progress) in Programming/Systems or Computer Science or other related field and 1 year relevant technical or business work experience- OR - Associate's degree (in progress) in Programming/Systems or Computer Science Information Systems or related field with 7 years of relevant technical or business related experience -OR - H/S diploma and 13 years relevant technical or business related work experience *Requires working knowledge of at least one (1) programming language *Comfortable with frequent, incremental code, testing and deployment
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED

*Proficiency with PeopleSoft applications and PeopleTools, ideally Campus Solutions *Experience using Application Designer, Application Engine, PS Query, PeopleCode, SQR, Oracle SQL, Integration Broker, Component Interface, BI Publisher, Equation Engine and COBOL. *Solid interpersonal skills, with ability to work well with people of all levels of information technology expertise and comfort in varied organizational relationships. *Experience completing development using RESTful Web Services with JSON *Experience with Web Services Integrations with Mobile Apps  *Experience with PeopleSoft Integration Broker and Application Messaging *Experience with Component Interfaces *Experience implementing APIs with external systems *Strong knowledge and understanding of SQL *Experience developing with PeopleSoft Portal/Interaction Hub *Knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.x Technical Architecture, Application Servers, Web Servers and Database Servers (Oracle Database 11g/12c). *Strong understanding of PeopleSoft Portal and web development languages such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. *Experience with SQL Tuning and working with Oracle databases is a plus *Experience with PeopleSoft 9.2, PeopleTools 8.56/8.58 is a plus *Experience with PeopleSoft upgrades, particularly with PeopleSoft 9.2 and/or PeopleTools 8.56/8.58 is a plus
