ABOUT THE JOB
A full-time Post Doc Fellow position is available in the Education and Research Center at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** (UC-ERC). UC-ERC is a training grant in the field of occupational safety and health funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. The Post Doc Fellow will be supervised by Dr. Gordon Gillespie in the Institute for Nursing Research and Scholarship, College of Nursing. The research focuses on the following occupational risk factors among home health and healthcare workers: 1) workplace violence and 2) stress and burnout. This position is time-limited and funded by the UC-ERC grant for a 1-year period.

JOB OVERVIEW
Assist the Principal Investigator in a given department or field.  The incumbent will conduct research and/or analyze research data and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Conduct research experiments in a particular field within the pre-determined research scope and methodology. *Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas that promote current research. *Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts and presentations of research results. *Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentation; may assist in grant writing. *Keep informed of developments in field to maintain and enhance professional expertise. *Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies, as needed. *May teach techniques to others, train, and mentor junior research staff. *Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.  *Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well.  *Perform related duties based on departmental need.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Doctoral Degree in occupational health nursing science or related field, or the recognized terminal degree, or the equivalent foreign equivalent.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*In-depth knowledge and experience of specialized software programs *Ability to develop an App that will assist home health and healthcare workers to prepare for expected exposures in homes and healthcare settings.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
Experience working in a larger interdisciplinary research team (this project includes ergonomists, industrial hygienists, occupational health nurses, occupational medicine, and occupational safety engineering).
