ABOUT THE JOB
The College of Medicine, Hoxworth Blood Center is recruiting a Manager Learning & Development in the Donor Services Division. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities.

The Manager Learning & Development will develop, implement and manage learning and development strategies, programs and curriculum for Donor Services. They will be responsible for leading the development and continuous improvement of a comprehensive training strategy to ensure strategic alignment of training and development with business goals. They will also be responsible for conducting assessments and analyses to define performance, skill, and knowledge gaps, and recommend training and development to drive individual and department capability for performance improvement.

JOB OVERVIEW
Develop, implement and manage learning and development strategies, programs and curriculum for Donor Services (DS).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Discuss and identify target areas and key performance indicators. *Lead the development and continuous improvement of a comprehensive training strategy ensuring strategic alignment of training and development with business goals. *Collaborate with Quality Assurance team members and business leaders to understand their needs related to training and development by proactively interfacing with key stakeholders to understand, recommend and deploy effective solutions. *Conduct assessments and analyses to define performance, skill, and knowledge gaps, and recommend training and development to drive individual and Donor Services capability and performance improvement. Evaluate and measure effectiveness. *Design and develop programs and curriculum, including create e-learning modules to meet learning and development objectives in accordance with regulatory requirements.Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for training and development programs. *Establish and maintain individual and division performance evaluation methods for training content, delivery, activities, and outcomes. Utilize metrics to validate knowledge transfer. *Manage training modules in Quality Management Software, record and report training courses, schedules and results. *Develop and propose SOP revisions based on regulation changes to ensure compliance. *Stay up to date with the latest developments and trends in the industry and incorporate new methodologies for effective development and growth. *May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). *Perform related duties based on departmental need. REQUIRED EDUCATION
*Bachelor's Degree in Education, Learning & Design, Instructional Design, Training & Development, or related field. *Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*Five (5) years of work experience as a Learning and Development Manager, Training and Development Manager, Training Manager, or similar role. *Experience with Adult learning techniques. *Up-to-date knowledge of effective instructional models and resources. *Proven ability to manage a training department with direct reports. *Good understanding of organizational growth. *Exceptional management and instructional skills. *Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
*Master's Degree in Education, Learning & Design, Instructional Design, Training & Development, or related field. *Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD), Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), or similar certification. *Instructional design experience.
