ABOUT UC BLUE ASH
UC Blue Ash is the largest regional college in Ohio and one of the largest colleges at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. We are an open access college and offer primarily associate degrees with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students.

The Foreign Language Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our American Sign Language (ASL) Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed). The number of positions varies depending on the needs of the department. Appointments are renewed semester by semester based on departmental need and teaching performance. Rank and compensation are based on experience and academic credentials. All applicants for this position must be proficient in English and ASL, have strong communication skills, and be effective classroom facilitators who enjoy teaching in a culturally diverse, student-centered environment

JOB OVERVIEW
On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member's primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.

Part-time faculty must be able to teach American Sign language and culture courses. Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year. All classes may be offered day or evening.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*On a part-time basis, conduct and teach assigned undergraduate courses. *May serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework. *Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities. *Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications. *Other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
A Master's Degree in ASL or a related field of study.

REQUIRED TRAININGS/CERTIFICATIONS
National Certification in Sign Language Interpreting 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Previous, recent teaching experience is required, preferably 1-2 years in a college setting.
