ABOUT UC BLUE ASH
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Blue Ash College invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, Tenure Track, Assistant Professor position which will begin August 15, 2021. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio offering primarily associate degrees with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students.

JOB OVERVIEW
An Assistant Professor at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is expected to teach, conduct research, scholarly and other professional or creative activities. This position will support **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***'s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all of our activities.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFICS
Primary responsibilities to include teaching a full-time course load which is 12-18 didactic and laboratory contact hours per week.  Course responsibilities will include a variety of delivery methods (in-person, hybrid or online) and will include day and evening classes, as well as teaching in all three academic terms (fall, winter, summer).  In addition, the position includes providing animal health care needs including routine surgical procedures and dentistry, managing and participating in off-site clinical experiences with students, and additional responsibilities as assigned. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Teach assigned undergraduate courses in both classroom and clinical settings.

• Attend meetings, participate in governance, and serve on college or university committees.

• Actively pursue professional development opportunities, including presentations and publications.

• May serve as an academic advisor for students and evaluate student coursework.

• Prepare materials for teaching and participate in curriculum development activities.

• Supervise laboratories (where appropriate), independent study activities, and off-campus learning.

• Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.

• Render service to the professional or lay community which is relevant to the individual's academic specialty.

• Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.

• Other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
Applicants must hold a DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine. 

REQUIRED TRAININGS/CERTIFICATIONS
An unencumbered license to practice veterinary medicine in Ohio.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 5 years clinical veterinary experience is required including relevant experience in the areas of clinical diagnostic medicine, anesthesia, dentistry and routine surgical procedures such as spay/neuter.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort with technology (Microsoft Office, email, ability to learn learning management system) are also required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
Experience teaching at the college level is preferred.
