General Description of Position:
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Sponsored Programs & Project Support Officer (PSO), the Executive Director of Ivy Textbooks and Bookstore Support plans, coordinates, and manages the business operations related to the Ivy Textbooks program and educational materials, including both administrative and financial responsibility. The Executive Director of Ivy Textbooks and Bookstore Support analyzes the business structure and operations of Ivy Textbooks and long-term sustainability for continued growth and improving student outcomes. The role requires outstanding organizational, communication, and leadership skills and an ability to develop innovative solutions that push boundaries to new levels of success for the College.
Major Responsibilities:
Ivy Textbook Implementation & Administration
Maintains administrative responsibility for the management of Ivy Textbooks which includes effective procurement of textbooks and related course materials, Ivy Textbook financials, publisher relations, contract negotiations, innovative textbook adoption strategies, bookstore distributor invoicing, and general operations.
Analyze college bookstore distributor financial reports and monitor term-to-term textbook adoption pricing.
Serve as the primary liaison with the College bookstore distributor and publishing partners to ensure successful implementation and sound business operations.
Ivy Textbook & Course Material Adoptions
Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations regarding course materials.
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business procedures related to course materials selection process.
Leads coordination and integration of efforts among academic, technology, and business affairs divisions to produce smoother workflows and more cost-effective business processes.
Publisher & Content Provider Relations
Manage vendor relationships, provide direction and oversees the purchase of course related academic materials including textbooks, general books, digital delivery items, all categories of general merchandise, operating equipment and related supplies for resale.
Review, evaluate and recommend vendor accounts to assure product mix is appropriate and provide value for dollar and appropriate margins.
Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
Provide leadership in maintaining relationships with interest groups such as faculty, students, staff, administration, competitors, educational institutions, and industry groups, state, local and national governing bodies and special interest groups.
Other Responsibilities
Responsible for overall outreach, marketing, promotion, and communications to build awareness about the Ivy Textbook model and bringing together cross-functional parties to ensure successful implementation.
Supports the advancement of the College through the development and provision of services that are reflective of the College’s academic mission. Interacts and coordinates with other departments and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field is required.
Five or more years of experience in college bookstore operations, retail environment, equitable access programs, publishing, or higher education.
Must demonstrate ability to build and maintain strong, authentic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree.
