General Description of Position:
Students in the Ivy Tech Business Administration program will not only learn about business but will be put directly in real-life scenarios and actual business situations to gain valuable job skills through a quality education. Our nationally accredited program at the Evansville, IN campus is seeking adjunct faculty members to supplement teaching for our Business Administration program. Courses to be taught, based on needs, could include: Financial Accounting, Business Law, Statistics, Business Communications, and more.
Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.
Major Responsibilities:
PROGRAM OPERATION
Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
Submits requested information within established timelines.
STUDENTS
Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
INSTRUCTION
Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
Use technology such as Blackboard, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.
Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.
Promote same as an integral part of one's work.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possesses a master’s degree,
or higher, in business administration, business education, public administration, management, marketing
, or a business administration-related field as appropriate to the program);
or
Possesses an out-of-field master’s degree, or higher, with documentation in two or more of the following:
in-field national, regional, or state professional certification, three years of in-field professional employment in the industry, documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 15 semester credit hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military training.

Hiring Range:
$44.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,112 per 8-week course)
