General Description of Position:
Administer a comprehensive financial aid program. Supervise, train and monitor performance of financial aid office staff. Maintain and interpret federal, state, and agency laws and regulations. Develop and update financial aid marketing materials. General responsibility for financial aid records.
Major Responsibilities:
Implements college wide policies for the financial aid program, including needs analysis, verification of financial information, disbursement of funds, supervising veterans' benefits program, College Work Study program, and coordinates with Business Office.
Monitors effectiveness of all financial aid programs, evaluating methods of participation and delivery system. Acts as liaison between central office financial aid department and regional financial aid department.
Maintains financial aid files for audits and all records in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policy.
Completes reports as required for federal and state aid programs, as well as reports by the College
Participates in collegewide training, on committees, and the development of policies and procedures
Serves as a liaison to outside agencies (such as Voc. Rehab., Workforce Development, Welfare Dept, etc.) to communicate financial aid information regarding their clients
Conducts all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Identifies and assists in developing new sources of financial aid funding and establishes awarding procedures for the funds.
Provides proper training and updates on financial aid for office staff and monitors requests.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business discipline or public administration.
Five years of financial aid experience with three or more years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree and experience with financial aid information systems preferred.
