General Description of Position:
The data and reporting analyst is a key member of the data warehouse team and responsible for the creation, documentation, and support of college-wide core/standardized reports from the college's reporting database(s). This position may also provide end-user training on report writing software and support users in ad-hoc report creation.
Major Responsibilities:
Works closely with end-users to gather report requirements and ensure proper testing/validation.
Creates core/standardized reports from reporting database(s) using front-end tools and SQL.
Adheres to standard coding conventions and best practices, including documentation and source control.
Trains end users in reporting database(s) and ad-hoc report creation.
Provides end-user support on core/standardized reports and ad-hoc report creation.
Works with Data Warehouse Team to create/modify Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes to aid in the creation of reports.
Monitors data warehouse environment to ensure proper execution and performance of reports.
Works with and provides guidance to information systems personnel or user agencies for maximum utilization of college data.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Must have at least two years of SQL development and report generation experience in a relational database environment.
Proven ability to deliver training/demonstrations to end-users, experience writing technical and end-user training documentation.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of end users; possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, problem-solving, and organizational skills, be customer service and team-oriented.
Familiarity with a report writing tool such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI is required.

Tableau Reporting and Analytics
Workday ERP/HCM
Salesforce CRM
Ellucian’s Banner ERP system
Post-secondary education work experience in a functional area such as Human Resources, Finance, Financial Aid, Student Affairs, and Institutional Research or in Information Technology.
Familiarity with Python, shell scripting, and UNIX
Cloud-based technologies, such as AWS and Snowflake data warehouse
“Big Data” analytic technologies
