General Description of Position:
This position supports the mission of Ivy Tech by planning and leading a variety of projects involving current and future facilities. This role reports to the Fort Wayne Service Area (includes Warsaw) Executive Director of Facilities and works with campus and Systems Office Facilities. It will directly oversee projects, large and small, and will work collaboratively with all key stakeholders involved, serving as the key contact for these projects.
Major Responsibilities:
• Will lead a variety of projects as assigned, including new construction, major renovations, office moves, and capital purchasing.
• Oversee and support projects from planning phase through implementation & completion.
• Prepare, maintain, and process appropriate documentation for projects in accordance with college policy, i.e., payment applications and construction contracts.
• Collaborate closely with Systems Office and the Executive Director of Facilities to ensure projects adhere to established protocols and appropriately support college operations.
• Administer service area facilities related contracts (i.e., Building upgrades, roof replacement, wiring, etc.). Responsible for processing and verifying all high value contracts, change orders, and pay applications.
• Manage and track contracts and PO numbers for all R&R project budgets
• Work closely with a variety of external representatives, including architectural and engineering firms, general contractors, and other vendors throughout projects, including the resolution of issues and discrepancies.
• Responsible for managing project budgets, including participation in budget development.
• Participation in strategic planning & support of decisions related to facility use/operations.
• Responsible for the management of service area facilities equipment life cycle tracking, including working with department heads to identify equipment life cycles, annual updates to the equipment information, and procurement of replacement equipment as needed.
• Assist with purchases as required, responsible for evaluating orders and bid documentation (requisitions, change orders, bid/quote requests, etc.), ensuring that budget funding is available with the acquisition of supplies, equipment, and/or services.
• Active participant in the implementation and adherence of OSHA standards.
• Space planning utilization and implementation as needed
• Manage moves for Fort Wayne and Warsaw Campuses
• Organize and update floor plans
• Assist with the success of the facilities' work order system
• Engage in an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported.
• Get to the root cause of challenges or issues, to solve quickly and professionally

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with three years related work experience or industry related certifications with five years related work experience
• Experience with budgets/financial management
• Willing to travel locally to all buildings/campuses in the region
• Be detail oriented and able to communicate efficiently and effectively with students, faculty, staff, and leadership.
• Quickly process available information and use judgment to keep projects moving forward
• Demonstrate flexibility in a rapidly changing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Project Estimating knowledge
• Project management training and/or certifications
• Experience working in an academic or state organization
• Two years of supervisory project management-related experience
