General Description of Position:
Under the direction of the IT Director, the part time IT Intern position will provide software installation support to students using their personal devices for Ivy Tech courses they are actively enrolled in. This position will also assist in creating and providing documentation and troubleshooting on installation steps for the various Ivy Tech software and contributing to the College’s Knowledgebase in ServiceNow by authoring Knowledgebase articles. This position will also be responsible for utilizing ServiceNow to document each student support need. The IT Intern will be expected to escalate issues when needed to the IT Director and the Service Desk team following the established method. All activities will be conducted with appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. This is not a permanent position. The duration of this position will span from February 2023 to July 2023.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide technical and user support and guidance in a positive and cooperative manner, exhibiting friendly, professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Process support needs to ensure that they are resolved in a timely manner, ensuring the communication documented within ServiceNow is complete and respectful; Responsible for actively reaching out to supervisor for questions or escalation.
Utilize additional forms of communication such as phone or face to face as needed when processing support requests in order to maintain excellent customer service.
Follow the agreed upon work schedule.
Follow the agreed upon structure when providing support to students, understanding what is covered under the support model and what is not.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess good customer service and organizational skills.
Must possess good written and oral communication skills and be able to provide service over the phone, through email or in person.
Must have an understanding of current hardware and software technology.
Must be able to maintain professional relationships.
Must be dependable.
Ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
Ability to use discretion and confidentiality when assisting students on their personal devices.
