General Description of Position:
The Executive Director, Marketing, Communication, & Community Engagement is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive recruitment and communication plan designed to build new and varied community outreach partnerships and expand the availability of the college's instructional and student support services to the College's broader community, working in conjunction with Enrollment Services, Ivy CareerLink, academic schools, and other departments. This position will recommend strategies to meet the needs of a diverse community and student body on campus and in the service area and provide community outreach services that introduce Ivy Tech Community College degree programs and services (advising, assessment, etc.) specifically for community campus partners within the campus service area.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide community outreach services and be a visible and active presence at designated sites within the campus service area in order to increase opportunity and leads:
Lead the development of community engagement strategies for the South Bend-Elkhart (SBE) service area, in collaboration with enrollment, academic, career and other departments.
Cultivate and maintain relationships in the local communities.
Develop, organize, and maintain working partnerships within St. Joseph, Elkhart, and Marshall County community organizations.
Organize, promote, and lead community relations outreach efforts including event representation and media relations.
Identify curricular and programming needs and interests within the service area and partner with appropriate external partners and campus departments to launch and/or adapt programs.
Share the benefits of the Community College in order to increase the number of inquiries and applicants to the College.
Assess the effectiveness of various outreach efforts and adjust accordingly to align with annual engagement and enrollment metrics.
Overseeing the development, production, and evaluation of campus promotional, marketing, media relations and media buying activities to ensure consistency in message and cost effectiveness.
Serve as the primary person in researching, developing, and executing new and innovative ways to reach out to our prospective student populations.
Work with the Student Affairs Leadership Team to implement a fulfillment process to serve the campus.
Work with the external agencies on the development of print and electronic media marketing materials and media buys to promote the college locally.
Take lead in the preparation and analysis of market research projects, i.e., focus groups, student surveys, etc.
Responsible for overall branding and marketing direction for SBE campus. Including identifying goals and strategies related to target demographics for the college.
Represent Ivy Tech by participating in state and local councils, committees, boards, and organizations:
Oversee coordination of campus team member participation in service area community events.
Provide outreach and enrollment support to organizations and targeted special populations in the South Bend-Elkhart service area.
Develop and implement strategy for community engagement, recruitment, and event planning activities in the South Bend-Elkhart service area.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, social services or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated experience project management.
Collegial relationships and connections with area community businesses, industries and other educational organizations preferred.
Must possess excellent “people” skills including working successfully with diverse populations, including (but not limited to) college and school personnel, business leaders, and prospective students.
Must possess skills and experience in public speaking and proven experience engaging large and small groups in a variety of settings.
Previous computer experience is necessary, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, text messaging systems, social media, virtual applications (Zoom, Teams, etc.), Client Relationship Management tools, etc.
Must be able to travel around three counties: Elkhart St. Joseph, and Marshall.
Must possess a willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) communication skills are preferred.
