General Description of Position:
Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by Ivy Tech Community College. The adjunct faculty member supports the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.
Major Responsibilities:
Perform all instructional duties to facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
Provide syllabus to students; follow syllabus content and requirements.
Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
Submit requested information within established timelines.
Deal with student concerns; and, if necessary, consult with program chair to resolve issues.
Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course.
Use classroom technology (IvyLearn, PowerPoint, etc) as appropriate.
Notify program chair in event of any emergency.
Conduct all work activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of population, views and learning styles.

Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of three documented years of entrepreneurial (one who organizes, manages and
assumes the risk of a business or enterprise - provide Articles of Incorporation, schedule C or
other legal documentation of business ownership) and/or intrapreneurial (an individual who
develops new enterprises within the corporation – provide resume with details) experience, and
completion of the initial RISE training, and meets one of the following:
1. Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
or
2. Possesses an earned bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in one of the following:
● Professional field related certification as noted on provided certification list (national, regional or state) (does not include teaching license or certificate);
● One or more additional documented years of entrepreneurial and/or intrapreneurial experience; or
● Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework (entrepreneurship, innovation, small business development, strategic planning for small businesses, etc.), CEU’s, vendor, or military; or 2. Possesses an earned associate degree from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in two of the following:
● Professional field related certification as noted on provided certification list (national, regional or state) (does not include teaching license or certificate);
● Two or more additional documented years of entrepreneurial and/or intrapreneurial experience;
● Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the associate degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework (entrepreneurship, innovation, small business development, strategic planning for small businesses, etc.), CEU’s, vendor, or military.
