Accounting Clerk- Bursar
Fort Wayne, IN Work type: Full Time Hourly Location: Fort Wayne, IN Categories: Business/Accounting/Finance, Student Affairs/Student Services General Description of Position: Processes student payment activity, including the receipt of cash payments and other related account receivable. Major Responsibilities: Assist students and process student payment on the Banner system and cash register. Responsible for verifying change funds, preparing daily deposit and reconciling cash register and Banner cashier check out reports. Prepare invoices and maintain accounts receivable records relating to invoicing and payments which includes third party contracts and scholarships. Assist with the review of student refund checks to ensure disbursements are correct. Assures adherence to College procedures regarding receipts and disbursements processing. Maintain the assigned change fund for the cash register. Prepare and process daily bank transfer. Analyze information and prepare various reports as requested. Responsible for opening and closing the office as needed. The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned. Minimum Qualifications: College level course work in accounting or office practices, Associate Degree preferred, or the equivalent in work experience - including accounts receivable experience. Must have customer service and cash handling experience. Strong written and oral communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree preferred Other Requirements: Selected Candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome. Work Hours: Responsible for opening and closing the office as needed. General hours for the position are Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 except during peak times when hours may vary. Some Saturday hours will be required during peak times as well.
