General Description of Position:
To maintain the visual appearance of the College grounds and to ensure the facilities are kept clean and presentable, and participate in the functions of the Procurement and Project Management department related to facilities improvements.
Major Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
* Demonstrate vital customer service and student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, problem-solving, and desire to identify and support student success.
* Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment where all people are valued and supported.
* Go beyond the easiest or surface answer for a student or an internal or external customer, and get to the root cause of the problem, question, or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible in Administrative Services for set-ups and breakdowns of conference rooms, classrooms, and auditorium, and helped with FF&E related to moves, space changes, and temporary project relocations.
* Perform cleanup of outside areas daily, monitor all campus grounds for trash and landscaping issues, and report problems and possible improvements to appropriate colleagues.
* Provide backup in various areas of the Procurement and Project Management department when needed (ie Mail room, Copy room, Shipping, and Receiving).
* Responsible for the loading and unloading of trucks as necessary.
Assist with the execution of facilities projects, including but not limited to helping collect compliance paperwork and assemble contract packets
Aid in communication with vendors and contractors regarding site visits, quotes, and installation schedules. Provide facility access to vendors/contractors as needed.
Assist with monitoring facilities’ request work orders and solving issues as needed, aid with small requests such as wall hanging
Help prepare campus spaces and grounds for project work and in restoring areas after work has been completed
Assist with tracking space utilization, including campus storage areas, offices, and special-use areas
Participate in special projects as requested by the Director and or Project manager
Assist in purchasing items through the Ivy Tech Procurement Site.

Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED
* Individual must have a valid drivers license and be insurable by the College insurance carrier
* Significant physical effort is needed
* Required to work on ladders, work over your head, heavy lifting (over 50 lbs repetitively), twisting, bending and exposure to hot and cold environments
* The successful candidate must also have the ability to follow oral and written instructions competently.
