PT Tutoring Coordinator - Learning Resource Center
Richmond, IN Work type: Part Time Hourly Location: Richmond, IN Categories: Academic Advising/Academic Support, Office/Clerical, Other General Description of Position: Coordinate all aspects of tutoring in all subject areas, including scheduling, tracking students, and promoting tutoring services to students, faculty, and staff. Provide math tutoring or writing tutoring, and maintain the overall tutoring objectives for Academic Support Services. The statements contained herein describe the scope of the responsibility and essential functions of this position, but should not be considered to be an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals may perform other duties as assigned including work in other areas to cover absences or relief to equalize peak work periods or otherwise balance the workload. Major Responsibilities: Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students’ diverse cultures, language skills, ability and experience Recognize that the primary role for tutoring is to help students become more confident, more successful and self-directed learners Serve as math or writing tutor. As needed, create reports for tutoring usage Direct student questions and concerns to appropriate faculty and/or department. Visit classes or campus departments to make students and staff aware of tutoring options. Promote tutoring and supplemental instruction to faculty Assist with special projects requiring tutoring expertise Build awareness and collaborate with student affairs staff about services and needs of students Maintain and develop training for any online tutoring resources that may be adopted by the campus. As needed, provide academic testing As needed, provide staff coverage for the Learning Resource Center The above listed functions are not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned, and individuals may perform other duties as assigned including work in other areas to cover absences or relief to equalize peak work periods.
