Sales Support Intern (Summer 2022)

This rapidly growing program provides opportunities for students in multiple areas of the business to receive employee level experience, not just busy work. Students gain valuable knowledge that they can't get in a classroom; they are guided through proper etiquette of a professional corporate setting. Over the course of the summer, Love's interns also participate in the following activities: *Experience multiple business operations *Q&A sessions with executives *Participation in Greater Grads: InternOKC *Community volunteering activities *Social-networking events *Instructor led Training (Technical and Soft Skills) *Mentor program *Structured performance feedback *Formal presentation to Love's leadership Sales Support Internship BASIC PURPOSE: The role of the Sales Support Intern is to support the operational needs of Customer Engagement team, while gaining adequate and applicable knowledge for future use. This role provides support in helping set up customers' accounts. They will assist with and gain understanding of Love's products and services, utilizing various systems and platforms to resolve the client inquiries and provide support requests while working closely with various internal departments throughout the company. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: *Assist customers to better utilize the online software that allows them to manage their fleet fueling and billing accounts *Research customer inquiries utilizing company resources and customer conversations to provide corrective actions/answers *Resolve problems by researching and working with other departments and vendors *Follow through on issues by placing outgoing calls to retrieve additional information or returning calls to offer information regarding resolution *Manage customer expectations regarding functionality and deliverables *Set up accounts *Participate in and support company-wide initiatives such as continuous process improvement in order to improve service, reduce costs and improve quality *Other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: *Education: *HS Diploma or equivalent required *Currently enrolled in a four year university program (preparation for Bachelor's Degree in Professional Sales, Marketing, or other business related major). *Experience: *Excellent customer service and active listening skills *Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills *Demonstrated experience working well in a close team environment *Possess a demonstrated ability to determine when to refer issues versus handle them personally SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: *Skills: *Ability to manage numerous competing demands in an extremely high stress environment *Ability to work with multiple departments and customers in stressful situations *Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office *High attention to detail, with follow through to completion of tasks *Strong problem-solving skills, multitasking capabilities *High level of professionalism and customer orientation *Typical Physical Demands: *Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping *Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds *Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator *Requires normal range of hearing and vision Job Function(s): Corporate Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores is the industry-leading travel stop network in the United States.
