Senior Corporate Communications Manager

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SENIOR CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER WITH GROWTH POTENTIAL. BASIC PURPOSE: The Senior Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for providing strategic counsel and project execution in the areas of Internal Communications, External Communications and Community Relations. These areas support the innovative and fast growing Love's family of companies, including Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores, Gemini Motor Transport, Trillium and Musket Corporation. In all responsibilities, it is critical that when necessary and appropriate, the Senior Corporate Communications Manager works effectively with internal and/ or external personnel. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: *Leads Internal and External Corporate Communications Managers to implement communications strategies and tactics that support Love's business. *Oversees Love's internal and external communications activities, plus Diversity communications. *Oversees internal communications channels including the company Intranet and Employee app *Oversees external communications social media channels. *Leads and supports a Community Relations Manager to implement strategies and projects that support Love's philanthropic activities and goals. *Ability to offer advice on communications strategies to executive leadership *Able to communicate effectively with executives and department teams across the organization *Oversees the crisis communications plan and response, when needed. *Serves as company spokesperson for broadcast and print media, when needed. *Seeks continuing education and professional development opportunities for self and team. *Oversees the annual Love's Children's Miracle Network Campaign and relationship with CMN Hospitals Corporate Partnership Manager. *Oversees the annual United Way corporate campaign. *Develops and implements a communications budget *Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: *Education: *HS Diploma or equivalent required *Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or a related field *Experience: *At least 10 years of communications experience, preferably in both corporate and agency settings SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: *Skills: *Hard skills: Must be a strong writer and editor; knowledge of Associated Press writing; must be an experienced media spokesperson; must be organized with attention to detail; Must have a deep understanding of communications best practices and the ability to train others in those best practices *Soft Skills: Must have strong leadership skills; Should have good critical thinking and problem solving skills; Must be able to work successfully with people at all levels of the organization across all functional areas; must be able to think strategically; Must have self-initiative; Must be a team player; should have good presentation/public speaking skills. *Typical Physical Demands: *Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. *Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. *Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
