Staff Accountant
Houston, TX Req ID: 278521 BASIC PURPOSE: The basic purpose of this position is to perform the cash reporting and accounting reporting processes related to Musket's accounting, and assist the Manager with Financial Statement evaluation and variance analysis/explanation. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: *Invoice settlements in SRA *Create manual invoices using work orders and quotes *Assist with the month end accounting close processes *Prepares and uploads monthly journal entries *Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations *Interact with external auditors to complete the year-end audit *Prepare ad hoc reports and/or analysis requested by management or other departments *Special projects as deemed necessary EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: *Education: *High school Diploma or equivalent required *Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required *Experience: *1-2 years relevant work experience preferred *SAP experience preferred *Right Angle experience preferred SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: *Skills: *Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong emphasis on Excel *Soft Skills: Strong oral and verbal communication skills; ability to perform and make decisions under pressure and strict deadlines; excellent time management skills; detail oriented; ability to multitask and be a team player *Typical Physical Demands: *Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. *Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. *Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator. *Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
