Orbital ATK has an opening for a Manager, Engineering in Chandler, AZ. US Citizenship is required. Active Secret Clearance is required. The engineering manager will oversee and direct a team of electrical engineers that support production testing and verification of avionics components designed and built by Orbital ATK Design Products Group. The manager will work closely with production managers and engineers to ensure continuous production of components such as Lithium Ion Batteries, high voltage safe and arm devices, digital circuit boards with microprocessors and FPGAs, GPS receivers, high voltage motor controllers and control loops, and components used in flight termination systems. This position requires close coordination with the Component Design Manager for defining the verification procedures of new product designs and testing in a production setting to ensure compliance to Orbital ATK standards. Taking design requirements, the engineering manager will be responsible to create component test plans, acceptance and qualification procedures, define in-circuit tests, and the required documentation of the results. Oversee and/or write requirements verification test plans and test procedures, performing in-circuit tests, and analyzing and documenting results. In the production setting, the engineering team ensures the definition and operation of automated test equipment, test procedures, defining and evaluating test limits, and test software. Final product verification in production will be through acceptance and qualification testing. When component failures occur in production, the engineering manager will specify the in circuit testing and analysis to determine the root cause of the failure and corrective action. Job Description: The engineering manager is responsible for coordinating and managing group tasks to meet deadlines on planned and unplanned activities as defined by the electrical engineering component department and the Orbital ATK Design Products Group program office. Position is one of high visibility requiring the ability to work with all levels of management. Specific duties include: * Managing and creating various engineering activities across the Orbital ATK Design Products Group. * Creating component test requirements. * Participate in design and peer reviews for schematics and board layouts. * Oversee and/or write requirements verification test plans and test procedures, performing in-circuit tests, and analyzing and documenting results. * In the production setting, verification of avionics component test equipment, test procedures, test limits, and test software used in acceptance and qualification tests. * Coordinate verification activities and reviews with Software Quality as required. * Maintain and improve verification processes to ensure compliance to internal component development process. * When component failures occur in production, specify the in circuit testing and analysis to determine the root cause of the failure and corrective action. * Experience with ESD Orbital ATK is applying entrepreneurial thinking and commercial practices to deliver reliable, innovative and affordable products and services to our customers and grow our core areas while harnessing new technologies that will take our products – and your ideas – into the future.
