Job Summary As a Manufacturing Engineer for the Orbital ATK Space Systems Group responsibilities will include both the planning and execution phases of flight hardware fabrication for a wide variety of aerospace applications. Responsibilities * Creating manufacturing plans and detailed work instructions. * Developing tooling concepts to support the precision tolerances required for end item deliverables. * Creating and improving manufacturing processes to meet challenging hardware requirements. * Reviewing engineering designs and drawings for accuracy and producibility. * Managing a programs Bill of Materials and coordinating all procurements to meet cost and schedule requirements. * Working alongside the manufacturing teams to ensure that overall Safety Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives are achieved to support our customer's requirements. * Communicating manufacturing plans and processes to internal and external customers through Manufacturing Readiness Reviews. * Research and implement new Technology that benefits our manufacturing processes Requirements * BS, Mechanical/Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering. * 3 to 5 years of experience * Hands on machining and/or fabrication experience * Knowledge of ANSI Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning. * General understanding of Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma Additional Requirements: * Knowledge of the lay-up, machining, assembly and inspection of advanced composite hardware. * Desire (i.e. passion) to build and manufacture products. * Proven multi-tasker and self-starter. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects and resources. * Proven leadership ability from past experiences. * Technical attention to detail on past projects and assignments. NOTE: Position may be filled at one lower level with 1-2 years related experience and BS, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
