Corporate Services is at the centre of the action, providing the support that enables Bell's industry leadership. Our Corporate Security & Responsibility, Communications, Human Resources, Procurement & Value Creation and Real Estate teams work collaboratively to drive our corporate strategy forward.

The candidate will be in charge of efficient and continuous improvement of companywide health and safety programs. The candidate will need to demonstrate a great ability to articulate technical concepts in a diverse and decentralized operational environment. She/He will have to collaborate with other health and safety program experts, operational stakeholders and Joint health and safety policy Committees.

In addition, the health and safety specialist will provide training, consultation, guidance, and technical assistance on matters related to workplace safety and assists all lines of business in complying with safety standards.

The successful candidate will also be involved in safety incident management and workplace accident investigations and root cause analysis, as well as proposing and coordinating the implementation of preventive measures as an integral part of the Bell health and safety management system.

The candidate will act as an employer representative for the files under her/his management.

CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:

*Min 5 years experience in occupational health and safety, workplace inspection and accident investigation *Expert knowledge in First Aid regulations both provincially and federally *Experience in training development/delivery (Face to Face, webinars and online design) *Excellent knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and provincial health and safety regulations *Strong knowledge of health and safety laws, regulations and CSA and other standards and demonstrate the ability to apply them in technical environments. *Experience in unionized and decentralized environments *Bachelor's or Master's degree in a specialized area related to occupational health & safety *Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

*Strong organizational skills and sense of responsibility *Excellent verbal and written communication skills *Proven ability to work in matrix team and to work remotely *Strong analytical and synthesis skills, as well as an ability to communicate information in layman's terms *Ability to demonstrate leadership, initiative, flexibility and autonomy *Interpersonal skills that enable partnerships from all company hierarchical levels *Excellent problem-solving skills *Project management skills *Ability to handle ambiguity *Ability to work under pressure *Knowledge of database reports and statistics

WORKING CONDITIONS AND SCHEDULE:

*Full time Monday to Friday - flexible schedule *Occasional after hours work or later shifts maybe required to assist with accident investigations or other urgent health and safety requirements *Occasional travelling required

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
