POSITION:                   Part-Time Producer, News, **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***

STATUS:                      Regular- Part time

LOCATION:                  CTV2 Barrie

SALARY:                      Unifor Local 714M Group 4. Commensurate with qualifications and experience

HOURS OF WORK:        24 hours per week.  Overtime and weekend work as required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Originating, writing, interviewing, providing creative input to produce television stories *Create, develop, and manage the daily assignment list *Work alongside the Senior Producer or delegate thereof to allocate resources, develop story ideas needed for the daily news meeting *Create morning headlines, weather and other information for display on the re-broadcast ticker *Manage and update the working court date lists *Monitor ALL local media, emergency services, and social media *Update barrie.ctvnews.ca website as necessary *Work alongside morning web producer to help generate, update news information to update our digital platforms *Understand elements needed for Producing and lining-up newscasts for CTV Barrie in a manner consistent with CTV News editorial and presentation standards *Assign staff and resources for the production of stories *Work with reporters to ensure appropriate coverage of news and live events and drive information to achieve ‘digital first' goals *Generate multiple story ideas on a daily basis *Take part in the daily planning of news coverage *Act as a liaison with other stations and platforms, booking and taking feeds *May include on-air reporting, anchoring or shooting *Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

*Two years' experience in a newsroom *Extremely organized with strong editorial fortitude *Strong interviewing ability and technique *A demonstrated understanding of technical production and visual presentation *In-depth knowledge of domestic and international news and current affairs *Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and prioritize *Excellent communications skills - oral and written *Experience leading staff, managing resources *Ability to work in a team, motivate staff and personally set the highest professional journalism standards *Experience using social media *Must be prepared to reside in Barrie area *College or University degree or diploma, preferably in Broadcast Journalism *Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills who loves news and current affairs

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
