We're looking for innovative team players ready to take some of the most well-known entertainment brands in the country to the next level. CTV News Toronto is growing its team of journalists. We are looking to hire a dynamic, experienced News Producer who is excited about delivering the news across multiple platforms, and thrives in a breaking news environment. Identifying news stories, generating enterprise news content, knowing how to element broadcast stories for different platforms, lining up, producing and executing a television newscast, writing quickly and accurately are essential to the job, as is strong news judgement. Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required. RESPONSIBILITIES: *Generate original story ideas for execution across multiple platforms *Play integral role in daily story development with editorial news team *Build newscast line-up *Writing to include but not exclusive to story intros, voice overs, promos *Vet scripts, video, audio, and banners on multiple platforms *Ensure accuracy, consistency and adherence to CTV News standards of all material *Takes the CTV News Toronto newscasts to air *Monitor wires, social media, e-mail and all other outlets for news updates or story ideas *Participate in news editorial meetings *Keep on top of news broadcasting trends QUALIFICATIONS: *Degree in Journalism *Excellent skills as live control room producer *Experience in managing news coverage *Experience in developing and structuring newscasts and news stories *Experience vetting scripts *Superior broadcast writing skills as well as knowledge of digital writing *Excellent knowledge of news and current affairs *Must have excellent command of the English language *Excellent decision-making and organizational skills, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet strict deadlines while maintaining strong editorial judgement and creativity Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
