Vice President, Operations
Van Nuys, CA : This position is part of the executive leadership team of the company and is responsible for the strategy and day-to-day activities of the Operations organization in support of all Capstone Green Energy product lines and systems. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and maintains the Operations department systems, processes, and protocols including all technical and administrative functions related to the production and testing of Capstone Microturbine products. Builds, develops, and manages a professional manufacturing and supply organization that accomplishes manufacturing and supply chain initiatives, is responsive to future and present customer needs, meets commitments, and is supportive of cost, schedule, and quality requirements. Ensures that all Operations functions comply with federal and state requirements as to safety, conditions, processes and practice. Maintains close collaboration with other members of the executive management team to assure the business health of Capstone. Seeks continuous improvement of all areas of manufacturing and production Communicates effectively to foster cross-functional, inter-departmental collaboration on production schedules. Prepares and delivers presentations to the Company's Board of Directors. Prepares and submits comprehensive operating plan, including budgets and cost forecasts. Insures best in class safety programs are in place and unnecessary business risk is avoided. Responsible for maintaining the highest ethical standards in all Operations functions. Leadership skills characterized by rapidly assimilating a broad vision of needs and creating solutions that can be executed effectively. Provide a proactive role and strong support of Capstone’s Safety Program, including strong management of non-compliance. Establish and attain peak performance and continuous improvement goals. Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly Demonstrated ability to inspire others; to show a strong work ethic; to set a positive example by providing assistance, recognition and encouragement; to identify and articulate clear, meaningful goals; to focus the efforts of others, and to quickly adapt well to changing conditions. Demonstrates an emphasis on high morale, collegiality, effective teamwork, high performance, delivery of commitments, and high moral standards. Sufficient knowledge of financial and business strategic and tactical concepts to successfully participate in guiding Capstone business. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or equivalent degree. Advanced degree preferred. Ten or more years in manufacturing of complex industrial products. Five or more years management experience including management of purchasing and supply chain activities. Capstone is an equal opportunity employer.
