SUMMARY
Bering Straits Logistics Services, a subsidiary of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is currently seeking a qualified Technical Writer and Course Developer for Lexington, KY.  The Technical Instructor/Course Developer creates and or acquires through vendors training material for use in videos, technical publication, and distance learning applications for distribution to and use by National Guard units supported by the Consequence Management Support Center (CoMSupCen).  Also serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) when required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Single point of contact for classroom/conference room scheduling.
Maintain and manage an internal employee training schedule and log.
Creates components list for use by the National Guard and Support Teams to accurately inventory and account for items associated with major end items.
Creates training manuals, online tutorials, and training modules, lesson plans, and SOPs for commercial off the shelf equipment supplied to the National Guard units.
Provides in person training to both National Guard units and CoMSupCen employees.  Travel to a unit location may be required.
Contacts OEMs, supply organizations, and commercial vendors to obtain training material and schedule additional training for CoMSupCen employees.
Takes and prepares pictures for use in technical manuals, components parts lists, and the CoMSupCen website.
Knows the proper uses and operations of specialized cameras and video/picture editing software.
Due to the experience and knowledge required for this position the occupant will serve as a backup Subject Matter Expert (SME), ready to deploy to support both training and real-world missions.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum) Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Must possess a valid state driver's license and passport.
Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite, Pinnacle Studio, PaintShop Pro.
2-3 years of instructor experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be extremely organized and possess a great attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of various camera, recording, and lighting equipment.
Knowledge of video and picture editing software.
The ability to read, understand, and interpret manufacturer manuals and technical bulletins. 
The ability to convey knowledge of commercial off the shelf equipment in a manner that is easy for others to understand.
The ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints, schematics and facility drawings.
Preferred
Education, training with safety emphasis.
Military CBRN experience.
Prior Military experience.
Army Instructor Training Course or equivalent.

This position requires the ability maneuver around and see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and supported units.  Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical conditions necessary for sitting, walking, standing, and performing work in an office environment.  Occasional lifting, pulling, pushing, and working in an environment outside of an office such as outside in the elements may be required for short periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
This position requires working in an office environment as well as working occasionally outside exposed to the elements. The ability to work with computers and sit for extended periods of time.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
•        Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.  Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  Accordingly, U.S. Citizenship is required.
•        Must have reliable transportation to/from work and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
•        As a condition of employment, candidates must have acceptable background check results and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
•        This position may be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing on an unannounced basis.
