Social Worker-Addictions
Churchill, Manitoba, Canada Position #20067025 Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree or Masters degree in Social Work Minimum five years counselling experience Minimum three years supervised addictions counselling experience Demonstrated knowledge and skills related to assessment Demonstrated ability in program development, implementation, and evaluation Experience in planning, preparing and presenting educational material is an asset Knowledge of the addictions and mental health fields and demonstrated ability to work within complex systems of services Experience working from a client-centred perspective Training and experience in the utilization of Motivational Interviewing techniques An understanding of, and sensitivity to, working with culturally diverse populations Superior written, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary health and social services team Ability to motivate and work co-operatively with community interest groups Working knowledge of federal and provincial addictions program Valid Drivers License Successful completions of a criminal records check and child abuse registry check An exceptional understanding of the concept of confidentiality The ability to relate to clients in a fair and non-judgemental manner The ability to complete documentation accurately and professionally The ability to function as a team member This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), an Adult Abuse Registry Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. Duties: Under the direction of the Manager, Primary Care. This position requires a commitment to a client-centred philosophy and approach to the development, provision and support of WHRA programs, policies and services. High levels of expectations Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more EFT positions greater than 1.0 combined across the WRHA legal entity (Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA Corporate Programs, WRHA Community Health Services).
