Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Foster Care Services - Support Worker Community Residential Program North Winnipeg Casual Support Worker needed to support 3 male children Ages 2 ½, 9 & 15 Consistent with the Mission and Values of the organization, the Foster Care Support Worker of the Community Residential Program is responsible for the provision of services within assigned foster homes. The Foster Care Support Worker will promote the processes which contribute to self-determination and the development of skills and competencies of individuals and care providers. . Successful applicants will have the following qualifications: Grade XII Diploma or GED Valid Manitoba Driver’s License in good standing Certification in CPR and Emergency First Aid Minimum of one year experience working with young children or providing services to people with disabilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills Positive, energetic, self-directed and person focused Physical ability and emotional stability to support peoples’ physical needs and respond appropriate to challenging behavior Ability to function effectively as a team member and work collaboratively with peers, clinicians, professional staff and families Successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory drivers abstract, criminal record, adult abuse and child abuse registry checks. |
