Stavanger, Rogaland, Norway Position overview Key role in Project Control team responsible for cost engineering deliverables for the integrated project. The role covers budget preparation, detailed cost tracking, forecasting, reporting and project closeout activities. The role requires close collaboration with integrated project team members, alliances, contractors, asset, D&W Cost Controller, BU Controller, Finance, SBD Purpose of the position is to be single point of contact for PCL/Project Manager with regards to all project cost engineering deliverables and drive high quality performance within project cost engineering discipline and ensure integration of cost input/output for all parts of the Integrated project (Asset, Pre-Ops, Reservoir, D&W, Facilities) Key responsibilities Lead all integrated project cost engineering activities associated with monthly performance reporting and forecasting, KPI reporting, business plan updates, annual and quarterly license budgets, baseline process, cost and schedule risk analysis and other applicable project control processes The Cost Engineer shall be part of a multidiscipline team and is expected to actively seek advice and perspectives from colleagues and leaders to deliver quality. Responsible for all Project Cost Engineering deliveries within the project(s) for all project phases Responsible for accurate and consistent Cost tracking and Cost Management in EcoSys (Pro)Actively propose improvement of EcoSys system functionality and cost engineering process to remove waste Develop and maintain a project specific WBS/CBS according to corporate standard WBS methodology Responsible for transfer of the Estimate into Control Budget (MCE) and be able to explain basis for cost estimates, estimate and baseline assumptions Responsible for close cooperation with Alliance Project Teams to capture, understand, control and trend changes and impact of changes to Alliance MLCs and integrated project EAC Responsible for project cost forecasting and variance analysis vs MCE/CCE, previous forecasts, VOWD Apply and explain impact of change of corporate assumptions to project VOWD, EAC. Participate in project change management by reviewing scope changes, assessing impacts of project changes on project cost. Maintain project cost change register in accordance with applicable procedures. Develop, implement and manage contingency drawdown plan, provide visual reports to PM Correlate cost data with other project controls data (schedules, manpower, productivity etc), investigate variances, prepare analysis, highlight inconsistencies and propose mitigating actions. Read and acquire a thorough working knowledge of relevant documents such as (but not limited to) articles of project contracts and MLC agreements, PEP, PDO, SOW. Seek clarification from others in the project team Provide data to Corporate memory and benchmarking, project close-out report. Compare final outcome with MCE and CCEs Responsible for managing accruals, cash flow input, invoice handling, preparation of requisitions Provide input to risk management, change management, quality management Present cost status to Project Management Support PCL/PM/PSM with ad-hoc requests Actively participate in Cost Management networks and improvement initiatives Qualifications Required BSc/MSc. in Engineering / Economics / Management or equivalent education Experience Expertise and deep competence in Cost Engineering discipline, tools and methods General knowledge of a range of the other project control and project management disciplines Minimum 10 years of relevant experience Knowledge of SAP, PIMS, EcoSys is an advantage Technical understanding and broad exposure to full life cycle projects in the industry is an advantage Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package Personal characteristic Self-starter with a strong delivery focus and excellent problem solving and analytical skills Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines. Good communication and interpersonal skills Team player with strong ability to collaborate to enhance effectiveness and share knowledge Able to “speak data” and utilize digital technology and translate it into more efficient work processes and higher productivity Able to identify improvement areas and willing to take the lead when challenges occur. Continuously seeks ways to do things better, faster, more efficiently.
