Position Status: Full-time         Pay Rate: $20-$25/hr

Thank you for your interest in Riverland Industries. Riverland was established in July 1999 as a toll manufacturing facility in Baton Rouge. Riverland specializes in the manufacturing of alumina-based catalysts and are looking for candidates that have high character traits, integrity, accuracy, and a safety mindset. Job Description:

This position consists of hauling our material between our different locations around the area. The goal of this position is to have a well-organized system to transport products in preparation of customer receivables. Responsible for hauling material, weighing and labeling the items appropriately. As well as preform pre-trip inspections and keeping detailed records of materials and shipments. Making sure products make it to their designated locations. Must be thorough in their work and have attention to detail. Must be able to use hand tools, and forklift experience is a plus. This is a full-time position. Working during the day on a Monday through Friday basis. Often times, short periods of work on the weekends may be required, as set by the department manager. 

Truck Driver Skills and Qualifications:

• Traffic laws/ DOT regulations/ driving knowledge

• Pallet jack experience and forklift experience preferred

• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout day

• Able to pass random drug tests

• Clean driving record

• No DUI/DWI convictions in the past seven years

• Listening and verbal communication skills

• Dependability

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Post-secondary education helpful and preferred. It is preferred that the candidate have at least 10 yrs of CDL experience. The candidate must be a team player and self-motivated. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be fluent in English. Must be able to read startup and shutdown procedures and be able to write reports of daily activities. Must be able to communicate with fellow workers clearly.

REASONING ABILITY: Must be able to clearly interpret the job roles given to the employee on a daily basis and carry out the work to complete the task. Knowledge in problem solving skills. Must be people and customer friendly. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands for this job are high. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time. If dust allergies are a problem then the work at our facility will not be suitable.  The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a combination of warehouses that contains our equipment and material. Some work will be conducted outside and in the elements. This is a full-time position. It is a very dusty environment. Exposure to elements, when it’s hot, it’s hot and when it’s cold, it’s cold.  

PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

Employees are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Illegal narcotics and alcohol are prohibited from the facility and the grounds surrounding the facility. Employees are expected to show up to work in proper dress attire or provided uniforms and steel toe safety shoes. Proper PPE such as a hardhat, safety glasses, and ear plugs are required and are provided by Riverland Industries. Employees are expected at their work stations at the assigned time.
