Immigration Attorney

Job Purpose: ATTORNEY-Immigration Attorney

Review, prepare and present cases before EOIR, and make legal determinations as to the possibility of relief. Responsibilities include, legal research, legal document preparation of applications and administrative duties. Applicant should have 1 year, attending Master Calendar Hearings, Bond Hearings and Individual Hearings. The Applicant should have the ability to write legal briefs that discern particular social groups, understand the legal standards and evidence required to seek Cancellation of Removal(s) and seek additional forms of relief before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals. Writing sample required.

Duties:
Include organizing and completing necessary documentation, monitoring case statuses, answering client questions, attend hearings and attorney/client meetings. Will also be responsible for case time management and billing. Prepare cases by gathering evidence; court hearing, conference calls, and client meetings; review investigative findings; Consult with experts; engage expert witnesses; prepare and interview witnesses; complete discovery process; develop arguments and testimony; complete filings.

Obtain and retain clients by following-up on referrals; Maintain cost standards by monitoring expenses; Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; Implement changes.

Working Environment/Skills and Educational Requirements:
Will work in a law office interacting with clients face-to-face, over the telephone, Zoom meetings, email or postal mail. Must be forward thinking as well as organized, efficient, a self-starter that is highly motivated and able to adapt to stressful situations. Experience with CLIO client management system is a plus.

The position's educational requirements are admission as a lawyer in the State of Texas - Juris Doctorate recipient. Client Confidentiality, Research Skills, Written Communication, Legal Compliance, Presentation Skills, Analyzing Information, Client Contact Skills, Interpreting New Laws, Legal Administration Skills, Verbal Communication, Bilingual is highly required.
