Troubleshoots, repairs and provides preventive maintenance support to production tooling in the weld departmentProvides daily production support for repair, adjustment and refurbishment of tooling and equipment used in the welding department.Possesses mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and controls knowledge necessary to maintain tooling.Reviews and interprets electronic and pneumatic schematics for a jobDocuments all work completed in work order management system and closes out work orders in a timely manner.Immediately elevate tooling issues that may have caused quality defects that must be evaluated and contained.When possible, minimize impact to production when performing repairs - utilize breaks or hand off significant repairs to an unstaffed shift.Communicate status of tooling repairs and adjustments between the shifts and elevate items that need a higher level of support to address.Work with Controls tech and Controls engineers on SMART tooling as neededResponsible for properly singing parts out of the crib to maintain tools and identifying parts that need to be purchased for repairs. All parts will be tracked on the maintenance work order.Actively participate in VIP program to identify opportunities to improve tooling up time and decrease failures.Demonstrate flexibility and support other maintenance work being done in the welding area including mechanical PMs.Must be organized, self-directed, and demonstrate strong problem solving skillsWorks independently or in a team atmosphere on various sized projects with strong customer focusOperates with a sense of urgency and in the best interest of the companyReviews and interprets electronic and pneumatic, written blueprints and specifications for a jobSkilled in using precision tools to take accurate measurements (Caliper, Micrometer).Help to plan, develop, and track tooling adjustments and changes, weld defects, creating rework procedures and provide feedback on how to advance the systemWork on NPI, and current model year projects as assigned by Weld ME and Weld Supervisor.Minimum 5 years of welding related experience preferredMinimum 1 to 3 years of Maintenance, design, CAD\/CAM systems, machining and Mechanics.Education Preferred 2 Year Degree Preferred QID for the EEO Statement - 89594About Polaris Recognized as the leader in the powersports industry, Polaris Industries is a fast growing, innovative, global organization.
