The Veterinary Medical Group Senior Manager will report directly to the Senior Site Director. The Team is comprised of all DVMs at PRL, including Animal Care, Surgery and Pathology as well as pathology support and imaging. The role will serve as a key member of the PRL Sr Leadership team and will provide strategic and tactical support for achievement of the PRL site goals.
A Day in the Life
Direct management responsibility for a professional level group.
Member of Sr Leadership team at PRL.
Participation in strategic planning and initiatives related to the growth of PRL.
Participation in business development activities as assigned by Site Leader.
Accountable for resource allocation and prioritization of Veterinary Medical Group to support smooth and efficient operation of PRL.
Hiring, coaching and development of Veterinary Medical Group members.
Participates in the designing of new facilities and improvement of existing facility.
Participate in Environmental Health and Safety and Facility initiatives
Lead quality improvement initiatives
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Directs the activities of a scientific group in the research and/or development of an organization's products, projects, and programs.
Collaborates with others on the direction of basic research and development relevant to long-term objectives and concerns.
Writes and approves manuscripts for publication.
Develops strategies to ensure effective achievement of scientific objectives.
Monitors and evaluates completion of tasks and projects.
Oversees interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5 years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5 years of managerial experience.
Advanced knowledge and skill set in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
Nice to Have:
Strong interpersonal skills
Significant experience working in the medical device industry
Graduate Degree (e.g. MSc, PhD, DVM, MD)
Preclinical research experience
Clinical Experience
Significant experience in translational research across multiple business units and disease states
Experience and strength in people management and project management
