JOB SUMMARY:Establish and implement effective compliance programs that ensure all aspects of Polaris operations and business practices are compliant with relevant laws and regulations. Monitor and report results of compliance and ethics efforts of the company to the Compliance Committee. Provides strategic oversight to support business objectives. Identifies and manages risks to the business, and serves as trusted advisor and business partner to the Executive team providing advices on a broad range of legal and strategic matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and managerial courage, emotional strength and maturity, and excellent business partnership and relationship-building skills. This leader is also expected to effectively lead a high performing legal team, ensuring accountability, providing mentorship,and building a positive, open and responsive team environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Build and manage company-wide compliance programs that meet the needs of the company and minimizes reliance on external legal resourcesCoordinate and support corporate monitoring, auditing, and reporting systems, as well as educational communications and trainingsResponds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and code of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, develops and implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.Ensure customs policies and business SOP's are maintained, and effectively implemented to support existing and new global supply chain requirements, local regulations, and corporate polices\/standards across PolarisEstablish the strategic direction for import and export management and compliance activities at the enterprise level including all transactional activity, trade infrastructure and training.Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and accurate with ability to establish plans, manage a large and varied workload of assignments with conflicting priorities, follow up, and complete work by deadlines.Provide feedback, instruction, and development guidance to help others excel in their current or future job responsibilities; plan and support the development of individual skills and abilities.Partner effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Internal Audit, Security, Human Resources, Employment Counsel) when coordinating and conducting joint investigations.SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE10 years of experience as a practicing attorney, including compliance, audit, or related experienceJuris Doctorate degree from an accredited law schoolStrong organizational skills, ability to juggle multiple priorities & meet short deadlines in a very fast-paced environmentDemonstrates managerial and leadership courage with a poised, credible, and confident demeanor that reassures others and commands respect; convey an image that is consistent with the organization's vision and values.High emotional intelligence that shows emotional strength and maturityStrategic and innovative thinker - Ability to develop a clear vision and strategy consistent with the Polaris's mission and best practicesAble to effectively manage projects and make quick, innovative decisions to resolve problems; results oriented and able to roll-up sleeves in order to accomplish necessary tasksStrong advocacy, negotiation, interpersonal, legal research and verbal and written communication skillsAbility to master new areas of legal subject matter QID for the EEO Statement - 89594About this location This opportunity is located approximately 30 minutes from Minnesota's Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
