Service Center Repair Technician','19004154','United States-Illinois-Rockford','','Technician','Mar 18, 2019','!*!DescriptionTroubleshoot and perform repairs on customer returned tools to the service center in a professional, timely and thorough manner. Ensure that repaired tools are in proper working order before returning the tool to the customer. Document repairs performed on customer repair ticket in a clear and accurate manner. Maintain clean and organized area for the repair of tools. Ensure that service center tools and equipment are kept in proper working order.   Organizational RelationshipsThis position reports to the Supervisor of the Service Center.  This position interfaces primarily with, but not limited to Technical Support, Product management, Engineering, Territory Managers within areas of responsibility, authorized service centers, distributors, and end-users. This position must display professionalism and enthusiasm in representing Greenlee and Emerson. Must have the interpersonal skills to work effectively with  Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Manufacturing and other departments within the company along with distributors and end-users.    ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot/diagnose and properly repair tools that have been returned to the service center in a thorough, professional and timely manner.Clearly and accurately document repairs performed on customer tools on repair tickets for communication with the customer.May be called on to provide support to product management, marketing, and engineering on Greenlee products, including voice of the customer product information, technical specifications, service related issues, product improvements, and evaluation of product, etc.May assist in the review and approval of warranty service claims for payment to authorized service centers.May provide telephone support to Territory Managers, authorized service centers, distributors and end-users and providing technical answers for Customer Service Representatives.May assist product management in field research and testing for new products and application of existing products.May review new and revised IMs for accuracy and consistency of instruction and repair parts information.Serves as a liaison between authorized service centers, field sales, end-users and engineering in investigating and resolving technical problems with the product line.Conducts all duties in accordance with the Emerson Business Conduct Guidelines. ','!*!RequirementsKnowledge & ExperienceThis position requires a Associates Degree in business or a technical field or the equivalent work experience.A minimum of five years of experience in the manufacture or repair of hydraulic and/or electronic tools and equipmentMust have good oral and written communication skillsMust have a working knowledge of computer applications and the capability to read blue prints.   Mental  & Physical RequirementsPerforms technical and complex task requiring independent knowledge and its application to non-routine situations.This position may exert up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequentlyThe use of arm and/or leg controls with exertion greater than that of sedentary work.  May also push, pull, lift, carry, grasp, finger or otherwise move objects.Must be able to operate an automobile and travel by airplane.
