Senior System Application Administrator - Boundary

Works from specifications to develop or modify complex software programs to enhance an operating system. May give some direction and guidance to less experienced software systems engineers. Investigates and resolves operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel. Develops logic, codes, tests and debugs software packages. Modifies, tests, and debugs retail utilities. Packages and engineers releases to integrate with the company's operating systems. Develops and modifies complex software, such as routines supporting multiprogramming, telecommunications and file management. The Senior System Application Administrator (Boundary) will:
Lead the AFIN infrastructure O&M, including implementation of two person integrity.
Lead activities related to change management, release and deployment, or Boundary management.
Administer and manage network Boundary devices and technologies.
Work with Communications Squadrons and other base-level authorities to maintain and administer security Boundary components at locations IAW DoD and AF standards and guidance, using industry best practices.
Change, upgrade, and patch Boundary devices requiring two-person compliance through established change management procedures
Participate in project management, planning, implementation and installation to ensure configuration and integration conforms to baseline architecture
Identify potential threats and manage resolution of security violations.
Operate and maintain network Boundary devices and technologies to include, but not limited to:
Maintain and operate Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).
Troubleshoot and correct IPS induced service issues.
Maintain physical infrastructure to include troubleshooting, operating system patching and identifying potential threats.
Manage resolution of security violations.
Install and configure network Boundary devices and technologies such as granting and restricting administrative access to Boundary devices according to authorization rules.
Install, configure, operate, maintain, monitor, administer, and troubleshoot network and network defense technologies (e.g., firewalls, application-based firewalls, intrusion detection systems, web proxy devices and servers, and associated software).
Participate in project management, planning, implementation and installation to ensure configuration and integration conforms to baseline architecture.
Coordinate the implementation of security policies and execution of threat mitigation and patch management.
Validate changes to meet the operational mission, ensure AFIN personnel are cognizant and trained to operate in the changed environment.
Provide detailed reporting of the network's operational status.
Track compliance with TCNOs/TCTOs/NTOs.
May support network computing environment operations and maintenance by identifying network requirements, installing upgrades, and monitoring network performance.
Perform supervisory duties as needed.
This position involves a rotating shift.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Requires a Security Certification, or other 8570 IAT II satisfying certification.
At least 3 years of directly related experience is required.
Blue Coat Certified Admin and Professional (BCCPA)
Linux Accredited Configuration Engineer (ACE)
Solarwinds Certified Professional
Wireshark Certified Network Analyst (WCNA)
Certified Infoblox Core Admin
Red Hat Certified System Admin (RHCSA)
Experience with Enterprise administrative experience with Palo Alto Networks firewall, Palo Alto Networks Panorama, MacAfee Sidewinder firewall, Bluecoat proxy and MacAfee Firewall Enterprise Control Center.
